Our Story.

So i figured it was high time for me to post our engagement story, how we met, all those details :) here it is!

John and I met almost two years ago at college in Michigan. We dated for about 7 months, after which he graduated and moved 2300 miles away to Seattle, WA for a new job. I still had 3 more years of school to get through, but we decided we would work hard to keep our relationship top priority! We couldn't bear to lose each other! Over this past year, we have endured the ups and downs of a long distance relationship, with him working and me in school. It has been emotionally draining for both of us, with many tears shed and lonely nights. It’s not easy to be away from the one you love! Yet, we survived the long months apart by our nightly Skype sessions and occasional fun and exciting visits. However, it was obvious to both of us that we wanted to be together forever, as even distance could not break the love and deep friendship between us.

The Proposal: On the evening of July 20, 2012, while vacationing in Florida visiting my relatives, John mentioned that he had the entire evening planned. He took me out to a fancy dinner on a marina overlooking the sparkling water. Then we drove down to the beach where I actually grew up! He even brought a blanket and some sparkling cider and champagne glasses, which was the perfect romantic touch. Just as the sun was beginning to set, we walked down to the water and he started expressing all the reasons he loved me. He was so nervous - it was adorable! Finally, he said he had one last reason and then he got down on a knee, pulled out the gorgeous ring, and asked me to marry him. I said YES!!! I started crying blissful tears and we stood there together, embracing the special moment. Then I found out he had hired a photographer who had captured the entire evening!!! The night was simple and romantic and absolutely perfect. I am the luckiest girl in the world!

And now we are engaged and just starting the planning process and working through the ups and downs of a CLOSE distance relationship!
It is so awesome to be so close to one another!

Pictures to be posted soon!
